(WHEN RECTOR IS AWAY)

_____ Check acolytes schedule and other lay participants on Friday or Saturday
_____ Have church keys
_____ Arrive at the Church by 7:00 Am../ 9:30 Am.. Upon arriving unlock / turn on: (Beginning at Parish Hall)
______ Unlock Parish Hall
______ Unlock restrooms
______ Unlock North door of Sunday School building and door to play area
______ Turn on cooler water faucet in the summer (handle on West wall in nursery
turn knob to the left until it stops)
______ Turn on cooler to low cool in the summer
______ Turn on cooler water faucet in the summer (handle in hall - turn knob
to the left until it stops)
______ Turn on cooler in Sacristy in the summer (behing the door)
Heater controlled by auto thermostat
______ Turn on Sanctuary lights (Rheostat behind Sacristy door)
______ Unbolt door to Sanctuary
______ Unlock old office door to Nave
______ Unlock outside door to Sunday School office
______ Unlock front doors of Church
______ Take bell clapper from Narthex closet and place in patio bell
______ Check that booklets and announcement sheets are on Narthax table
(if not, they may be in the Narthex closet
on the back shelves or in office)
* 7:30AM service does not use booklets
______ Regular bulletins for Morning Prayer and special holidays for both services
______ AC in church Is automatically controlled for Nave area (if necessary, manually
adjust to a comfortable temperature by pushing the - up or down;
it will automatically return to the programmed selections after 12:00 noon.
Heater is controlled by automatic thermostat in the winter
______ Turn on main lights and green light for mics
______ Check speakers for sound by talking into the microphones
______ Check hymnboard for appropriate day and hymn list for visiting clergy on
counter in Sacristy(hymns match bulletin)
______ Check that enlarged Lectionary insert is at the Bible for lector and that the
BCP page # for the Psalm is written on it (or that the Bible is marked
if no Lectionary insert is used that day)
______ Check location of Alms Basins
______ Check Altar set-up (Morning Prayer should have no Eucharistic candles) Before you leave:
_____ Secure offering in locked box after Service
_____ Fill out Service Book
_____ Turn off green light for mics
_____ Return Alms Basins to proper Locations
_____ Replace bell clapper in Narthex closet
_____ Turn off water faucets and coolers (turn knob to the right until it stops)
_____ Turn off all inside and outside lights
_____ Secure all doors that are unlocked REMEMBER:
7:30 Am.. Service:
Ring patio bell (1-2-3, 4-5-6, 7-8-9)
