It is not ourselves that we proclaim;
we proclaim Christ Jesus as Lord,
and ourselves as your servants
for Jesus' sake.
2 Corinthians 4:5

     The Diocesan schools strive to offer an education that seeks the academic development of each student, but more importantly prepares them as individuals for a life that is creative, humane, compassionate and dignified as a child of God and a contributing member of society.

The Episcopal Schools of Honduras began as Anglican schools in the 1920s as an outreach to the English speaking afro-antillians who were working for the banana companies on the north coast. Bilingual education became very important to the economy of the country and other schools were opened to meet the increased demand.

Although the majority of the work of the Episcopal Church in Honduras is among the rural poor, the Episcopal Schools of Honduras are an essential social social ministry serving the growing middle-class of this Central American country. Our bilingual schools, located in the cities, focus on the children who as adults will be in positions to make permanent changes in this still very developing country.

Since English is the international language of business and Honduras is a country which has many international companies, our graduates are in demand for their skills and abilities to work bilingually and biculturally. Most of our high school graduates go on to study at universities. We are preparing the future leaders of Honduras.
